Shri Surya Dev Ji Ki Aarti in Hindi

Surya Dev is worshipped by many people every day in India. It is believed that worshipping him on Sunday can fulfil all wishes. The solar deity in the Hindu Dharma is offered with fresh water from the copper vessel and chanting mantra- Om Suryaye Namaha and Gayatri Mantra, followed by his Aarti. Surya Bhagwan is offered with Kumkum, jasmine & Kaner flower and red sandalwood paste. People also do fasting on Sunday for knowledge, intelligence, strength, divinity and overall peace of the planet.

About Surya Dev

Surya Dev is a deity of the Hindu religion and is called the Sun around which the earth rotates. This solar deity is worshipped as a part of Saura tradition in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha. Surya Bhagwan rides a chariot that is harnessed by 7 horses, wherein each horse represents each of the 7 colours of visible light, and also the 7 days in a week.

Surya Dev is believed to travel across the sky every day on his chariot that is drawn by seven horses, which represent seven days in a week. As you see the sculptures of Surya Bhagwan, you will see him dressed in a close-fitting coat and high boot, on a chariot. He holds lotuses and chakra in his hands and his head is surrounded by sun rays.

Surya Dev is symbolized by the immense light, goodness and wisdom. He represents courage, royalty, wisdom and will power. The lord helps to get rid of anger, greed, egoism and evil thoughts.

Surya Dev History and Significance

Surya Bhagwan had three queens, Prabha, Sharanya and Ragyi. Sharaya was the mother of Vaivasvata Manu, Yama, Yami and Ashvin twins. He is the lord of Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Phalguni and Krittika, and is mainly associated with copper, red and other metallic colours.

Surya Dev is also known by other names, such as Bhanu, Ravi, Bhaskara and Aaditya. Sun is radiant and emits heat, which is why Lord Surya is said to have a slightly volatile nature. He is worshipped on festivals, like Makar Sankranti, Chath puja, Kumbh Mela and Pongal. Not only in the Hindu religion Lord Sun is worshipped, but also in Jainism and Buddhism, amongst other religions. The blessings from the chief god in the Vedas is sought to impact the personality and characteristics.
