श्रीगुरु चरन सरोज रज, निज मनु मुकुरु सुधारि।

बरनऊं रघुबर बिमल जसु, जो दायकु फल चारि।।

Hanuman Ji is known for his commitment to Lord Ram and is viewed as the epitome of confidence, dedication and surrender. Poet and Saint Goswami Tulsidas, the creator of the Tulsi Ramayana also composed Hanuman Chalisa in the 16th century dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is believed that the saint regained his wellbeing by singing the gestures of recognition of Hanuman Ji. The Hanuman Chalisa includes 40 verses loaded up with acclaims for Lord Hanuman. Every word of Chalisa has an essence that must be absorbed by the devotees.

About Hanuman Ji:

Bajrang Bali is known for his loyalty, devotion, courage and valour. Hanuman Ji as a child was very curious and his mischiefs were never-ending. The gods tried to stop him from misusing his powers by making him forget about his powers. Jambavan in the epic Ramayana reminded him about his special powers, like Anima (capability of shrinking size), Mahima (capability of increasing size), Lagima (capability to become weightless), Garima (capability of increasing weight), Brapti (capability of travelling anywhere and acquiring anything), Parakamya (willpower), Vastiva (mastery over all creatures) and Istiva (capability of becoming godlike with the power to create as well as destroy).

Hanuman Ji Ki Sawari

Lord Hanuman Ji had the ability to fly at will, which is clearly mentioned in Ramayana and Parasara Samhita. But do you know that a large number of Hanuman Temples have depicted the lord hanuman with Camel as a mount (vehicle). In Parasara Samhita, it is cited that Hanuman is Ushtra-rooda, which means he is mounted on a camel. Its story goes like this:

The first meeting of Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama was at Pampa River. He liked the place to a great extent and wanted to come to the river every day. But at that time, he did not remember his power of flying at will. He required to cross a desert to visit the place and hence he asked a camel to cross the desert. After this, the camel became the sawari of Hanuman Ji.

The Lord Hanuman is a symbol of courage, devotion, strength and wisdom. The great qualities of Hanuman Ji can be gained by devotees by worshipping him, especially on Hanuman Jayanthi.

Hanuman Ji History and Significance

Hanuman Ji, also known by other names such as Pawan Putra and Bajrang Bali, is the son of Lord Vayu and Anjana. The lord has incredible powers as a child. One morning, he was attracted to the rising sun and thought that it was a ball. He jumped into the sky to get hold of that ball. Indra, the kind of gods, tossed his weapon, the Vajra at him in order to stop him. Hanuman tumbled to earth, injured. Lord Vayu had gone to strike until he found the one who hurt his child and punishes him. As he stopped the wind on earth, animals and humans could not breathe. The gods tried to appease Lord Vayu by blessing Hanuman with numerous boons. With these boons, Bajrang Bali played a critical role in the Ramayan. It is a standard belief among the Hindus that chanting Hanuman Chalisa will help in attaining wisdom, strength, knowledge, devotion, fame, good health, mental peace, power and wealth.
