Hindi Diwas Poem in English for Students

Mai hu Hindi vatan ki bacha lo mujhe,
Rashtra bhasha hu Mai abhilasha hu Mai,
Ek vidhya ka Ghar pathshala hu Mai,
Mera Ghar ek mandir bacha lo mujhe,
Mai hu Hindi vatan ki bacha lo mujhe.

Mai hi gad bhi bni, or pad bhi bni,
Dohe bni sath me Chand bhi bni,
Tumne kya kya nhi seekha bta do mujhe,
Mai hu Hindi vatan ki bacha lo mujhe.

Dekho is bheed me kha kho gayi,
Asa lgta hai ab need me so gayi,

Mai kha se shuru or kha aa gayi,
Sir Jami se chali or aasman pa gayi,
Weh hasi pal Mera lauta do mujhe
Mai hu Hindi vatan ki bacha lo mujhe.

When is Hindi Diwas or Hindi Day Celebrated?

Every year, 14th September is celebrated as Hindi Diwas or Hindi Day. The 1st Hindi Diwas was celebrated in the year 1953. After independence, on 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly had decided to make Hindi the official language of the country. At that time most of the work of the government was done in English. But, in view of the multi-coloured culture of the country, the need was felt for a language that would connect most of the country with each other. After much deliberation, Hindi was chosen as the official language for this.
