Masala Dosa is a very popular south Indian dish which has its origins from the state of Karnataka. It is made from potato, lentils, rice, curry leaves, meth and served with delicious sambar and chutneys. However, unlike the others, masala dosa is easy to prepare, contains more spices and has aromatic stuffing.
Step 1: Mix the batter, salt and water
Mix the batter, salt and few drops of water…mix well and keep aside
Step 2: Heat non-stick pan
Heat a non-stick pan, grease with butter, sprinkle a tiny bit of water and wipe it off immediately
Step 3: Pour batter on Pan
Pour ¼ of the batter on the pan, spread it in a circular motion
Step 4: Smear Butter
Smear 2 tsp butter around the edges
Step 5: Place prepared aloo
Place the prepared aloo even on the dosa and cook until it turns brown
Step 6: Fold over using spatula
Fold over using a spatula and make a roll
Step 7: Repeat the process
Repeat the process for the remaining batter and aloo masala
Step 8: Masala Dosa is Ready
Masala Dosa is ready to eat. Served it with coconut chutney
There are parts: one is the dosa and the other’s stuffing. While preparing masala dosa, these two need to be made separately. There are many variations of dosa such as paper masala dosa, Mysore masala dosa, Madras masala dosa etc.
