Co-WIN App: How to register for Covid-19 vaccine in India

The app is not functional yet, however, over75 lakhs of health officials have already registered on the app. When it is up and running, it will be available to download safely.

Documents needed for COVID Registration
To register, people need to validate their personal information by uploading any of the documents such as:

• Aadhar Card
• Driving License
• PAN Card
• Others Government ID proof

How the sessions have been planned
An ideal session site should have three demarcated rooms/areas:

1. Waiting Room/Area;

2. Vaccination Room; and

3. Observation Room

Who will get the COVID vaccine first in  India

1. Healthcare workers
2. Frontline workers
3. People aged above 50 years
4. Areas with high COVID-19 infection
5. Remaining population

COVID Cases in India
As of 2021, India reports 16, 375 and active cases falling to 2.3 lakh. On a good note, India is seeing a drop of over 80% since September. There has been a slight reduction in testing. A decline of positivity rate of 11.2 % down to less than 2% is seen this month.

COVID vaccine
India is set to commence its vaccination to the masses to over thirty vaccination hubs in the country. The priority is set for senior citizens, frontline workers which will likely be completed by August.

Corona Vaccine cost
At a starting stage, the vaccine will cost 200 per dose for the first ml jabs which will be supplied to the government. The vaccine is likely to cost Rs.1,000 per dose when it’s out in the market.

All you need to know about Co-WIN

1. The Union Minister has announced a Co-Win app self-registration process for vaccines. The app is still in its pre-product phase, and only the frontline workers are eligible to register themselves after they are identified by local authorities.
2. The app is in the final phase and will be up and running soon. It is not yet available on Play Store or App Store.
3. The app can be accessed only by health officials for now, they are uploading data of health workers who will get their vaccinations. And, more than 75 lakh have been registered during this update.
4. The final app still needs a lot of work and it will have to be strengthened before it goes live for public use.
5. The app cannot be accessed by the common masses for now. Therefore, there’s no self-registration process going on.
6. When the app is up and running, it will have 4 modules
7. The first module is beneficiary registration, here people can use it for self-registration. Under this, there will be 3 options available: individual, self-registration, and bulk upload.
8. With the self-registration option, beneficiaries can register themselves. A photo identity will be required for this registration. And, the data will verify if the person is above 50 or below 50 years of age.
9. District magistrates and surveyors can register multiple beneficiaries.
10. There will not be any spot registration in any phase of the vaccination. First priority will be given to frontline workers in the first two phases. Then, it will be followed by people of 50 years and above.
