Bhratri Dwitiya or Bhai Dooj is a Hindu festival, which signifies the strength of the bond of affection between brothers and sisters. In the year 2021, Bhaiya Dooj will fall on Saturday, 6th November.

This occasion is always observed two days after Deepavali Puja or Diwali. Among the various Hindu festivals, Bhaiya Dooj is significant. This is done by performing the Tika ceremony. In addition to this, brothers also offer gifts to their sisters.

Known to strengthen the bond between brothers and sisters, Bhaiya Dooj is observed on the Dwitiya Tithi, Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Kartik. According to Hindu scriptures, Bhai Dooj (यम द्वितीया) is related to Yama (the God of death) and his sister, Yamuna.
