Maa Kushmanda is known to have a pure nature. She is gentle and becomes happy with very little service and devotion provided it is done with a clean and pure heart. Maa Kushmanda Mantra is also chanted during her worship, which is very beneficial in making the Goddess happy.

About Maa Kushmanda

The 4th day of Navratri is dedicated to the worship of Maa Kushmanda. She is depicted to have eight arms, because of which she is also popular with the name of Ashtabhuja Devi. According to the ancient Hindu literature Durga Saptashati, Goddess Kushmanda is considered as the presiding deity of this pastoral world. All the ten directions are illuminated by the radiance and light of Mata Kushmanda. The moving speed in all the objects and beings of the universe is considered to be their image. In the seven hands of Maa Kushmanda, respectively, Kamandal, bow, arrow, lotus flower, nectar-filled urn, chakra, and mace are held. On the eighth hand, there is a rosary giving all the siddhis and funds. 

Maa Kushmanda Puja Vidhi

Maa Kushmanda always rides a lion, which is the vehicle for her travels. As a part of Maa Kushmanda Puja Vidhi, she is offered Malpua. Apart from this, the curd is also offered to her. Along with this, Maa Kushmanda Aarti and Maa Kushmanda Mantras are chanted to please this goddess form of Devi Durga.
